The Werner Farm

My dad and I were hiking through Sleeping Bear Dunes when we stumbled across this weathered old barn, quietly tucked into the land like it had always been there. We stepped inside sunbeams slipping through the wood, silence thick and golden.

I immediately knew this was the place to shoot my dear friend Emma’s brand. The light. The stillness. The history held in every beam.

So we came back at golden hour. Emma in white linen, moving through the space like she belonged to it. And that’s when we saw the sign: The Werner Farm. Her last name.

We did a little research. Turns out the barn was built in 1850 making it the oldest surviving mainland structure from the early settlement era. And we’re pretty sure Emma is related to the family who lived here.

The shoot felt like something more than a coincidence like the land had been waiting for her. Every frame carried a whisper of connection, like the barn itself was telling us, you’re right where you’re meant to be.

Love Wayne. The universe leaves clues. We just have to follow them.
