De Alma was born out of the act of love. The kind of love that sweeps you damn near off your feet.
The Werner Farm
My dad and I were hiking through Sleeping Bear Dunes when we stumbled across this weathered old barn, quietly tucked into the land like it had always been there. We stepped inside sunbeams slipping through the wood, silence thick and golden.
I immediately knew this was the place to shoot my dear friend Emma’s brand. The light. The stillness. The history held in every beam.
So we came back at golden hour. Emma in white linen, moving through the space like she belonged to it. And that’s when we saw the sign: The Werner Farm. Her last name.
We did a little research. Turns out the barn was built in 1850 making it the oldest surviving mainland structure from the early settlement era. And we’re pretty sure Emma is related to the family who lived here.
The shoot felt like something more than a coincidence like the land had been waiting for her. Every frame carried a whisper of connection, like the barn itself was telling us, you’re right where you’re meant to be.
Love Wayne. The universe leaves clues. We just have to follow them.
Robert Johnson, a cowboy from Sealy, Texas, has spent the last 25 years working with horses. Known for taking in horses that others have given up on, he has a unique ability to find the light in them that most people overlook. To Robert, horses are his greatest teachers. They’ve shown him how to be kind, loving, and forgiving. His passion extends beyond horses—he’s dedicated to helping kids discover the same lessons. Through horses, Robert connects with children, uncovering their potential and offering them new opportunities. His calm, kind presence is felt throughout the community, and he continues to inspire the kids in his neighborhood. I’m excited to share just a glimpse of his story, with more to come as we follow his journey.
Hiking the Ausangate trek, we embarked on a spiritual journey. Meeting the people of the land, under the bright stars, our breaths were but whispers. We embraced what truly mattered—the profound connection between ourselves and the sacred places we traversed.
Growing up at Smoky Bend Ranch with my father, I've learned about the intricate dance of life and the challenges it presents. He puts his heart into providing us with food, hunting birds to ensure we have a meal on the table. Our boots are always caked with dirt, and they better be made of sturdy oak.
Where we ride the waves, and let our worries roll.
With boards underfoot and the ocean so wide,
We find peace in the water, where we choose to ride
My life pulsates with its own unique rhythm, a heartbeat that resonates through every moment. Regardless of my actions, I cannot help but heed its call. I have unwavering faith that I'll continue to follow this heartbeat.
